27 BC, Octavian defeats Cleopatra and Marc Antony and then takes takes the title of Augustus and become the first emperor of Rome.
First Emperor
Octavian, Julius Caesar's grand nephew and adopted son becomes the first emperor of Rome after taking the title of Caesar Augustus.
Two of his greatest accomplishments are:
1.) How he changed the tax System, he changed it because he didn't want the collectors take to much money instead of giving it to Rome. They were keeping more of the tax's then they were supposed to so the collector's were given new jobs as government officials and were payed wages.
2.) Another accomplishment of his was that there was a network of paved roads allowing to to transport goods and people. They also could let army's move along on the paved roads easily.

-Once Diocletian dies his emperor in training will take his place thus will solve succession

-Constantine legalizes Christianity also none as the Edict of Milan.
-He also decided to paint crosses on the shields.
-Then Constantine defeats Maxentius.
THEODOSIUS 347 AD-395 AD
-Theodosius ends the Gladiaor games he was tired of people killing people animls killing animals and animals killing people.
-Also after christianity was legalized he said it was the only religion.
-If he ever caught anyone worshiping a roman god you were sentenced to death.
Fall of the Western Roman Empire: September 4th 476 AD

-Citizens were not carrying out civic duty's: serving in the army, paying tax's, and helping govern
-Borders are to large to defend
-Barbarien invasion

-The empire was split into the East and West
